S&L’s Diner Turns Green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
Every year on March 17, the United States comes alive with the festive spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. Everywhere you look, there’s a splash of green: people wearing green on the streets, bars serving green beer, and many foods and drinks “dressed in green” to join the celebration.
Few people know that St. Patrick’s Day originally began as a traditional Irish holiday. In the 19th century, waves of Irish immigrants arrived in the United States, bringing along their culture and celebrations. Over time, St. Patrick’s Day gradually became a familiar part of American cultural life, celebrated across the country as a colorful spring festival.
The signature green of the holiday comes from the shamrock – the three-leaf clover, a traditional symbol of Ireland associated with good luck. Inspired by this symbol, the Shamrock Milkshake was created: a refreshing mint-flavored milkshake with its iconic green color, now one of the signature treats enjoyed every St. Patrick’s Day.
🍀 At S&L’s Diner, we’re also serving Shamrock Milkshake starting today (March 13). If you’d like to enjoy a little St. Patrick’s spirit the American diner way, this is the perfect time to stop by.
See you at S&L’s!
